Fly fishing or just fishing with the owner, "Pow" Cabral, an inter-nationally known and licensed fly fishing guide, in salt or fresh water from Placencia, is the Fisherman to use. "Pow" has been featured on CNN, written about in several Fishing magazines, newspapers and the New York Times and has been a guide for over 25 years. He started with his father at age 8 and has continued through today. Guiding from Belize City to Punta Gorda for all kinds of fish. He occasionally fishes Guatemala and parts of Honduras.
If he isn't there and it's in season, he might be pulling the Lobster traps. Have you ever had fresh Lobster from the reef in Belize? He'll take you where you can dive for your own. Regardless, when you find Pow, there will be fish around. If you want to Fly fish for Bonefish, Permit, Snook, Tarpon or any other fish, "Pow's" your guide, and the one to use in Placencia, Belize. If you just want to see the sights on, in or around the Caribbean, "Pow's" still your guide.

We have Mayan ruins, Jaguar Reserve, Zoo, Cockscomb Wildlife Reserve, Blue Hole, Manatee's hide-outs and a great sandy beach, if you just want to do absolutely positively nothing. We also provide sightseeing, snorkeling, scuba diving, Manatee watching, relaxing at the Cayes, kayaking, and tours for Monkey River, noted for the Howler Monkeys, which are seen most days. The Monkey River trip includes a Jungle tour.

So! You want to fly fish. No! Just catch a fish? But, I want to see the Mayan ruins. 
Pow's specialty is Fly-fishing for the allusive Permit, Bonefish and spectacular 75-100 pound Tarpon. His philosophies, like most of the other fishermen in the Placencia area, is catch and release the Grand Slam alias "Go for the Gold", for another day. You won't be able to hang your fish on the wall, but if you bring your camera, we'll take a great picture you can hang there. You'll remember that fish for a lifetime. You'll be able to talk for days about Pow, Belize and the one that didn't get away. But, as you turn him loose, "you'll think to yourself", as he goes back to the deep, he'll be bigger next year and maybe just a 12 lb leader will catch him instead of this 20. Alas, the fishing in Placencia is world class and known the world over. We have great fishing for beginners to the best of the best. Pow fishes the lagoon, flats, reef, blue water and those holes nobody else knows about. We also do Spin Casting, trolling, bottom fishing. The Fishing trips also include the option to camp while on a fishing trip.
If Pow isn't out Fly-fishing, either in salt or fresh water, for the Grand Slam (now known in Carol's Cabanas as "Going for the Gold"), you'll find him spin casting for Kingfish or maybe Snapper. Then again he may be trolling for Barracudas or anything else that is hitting, on Belize's Great Barrier Reef. 
Carol's Cabanas have all the necessities for an extended stay in Placencia. They' re in the central-coastal part of Belize and within a short drive to most (but not all) things to do and things to see.
